Voting

Introduction
Overseas Americans – estimated at 9 million by the US State department – have had the right to vote in Federal elections since 1975 thanks to grassroots campaigning by citizens and organizations, particularly Democrats Abroad. Since that time, it's become clear that a theoretical right to vote does not necessarily translate into an effective reality. Each state has different procedures and deadlines, information distribution is difficult, and mail delivery times can be problematic.

Great strides have been made in recent years. More overseas Americans than ever before who wish to vote are able to do so. Congress passed important legislation both protecting and facilitating overseas citizens' ability to vote. Online registration tools like Vote From Abroad at www.votefromabroad.org have made it even easier to send a yearly request for ballot required by the law.

Vote in the Georgia US Senate Runoff Election - December 6, 2022

The Georgia US Senate Election Runoff Election is on December 6, 2022

Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock won more votes than any other candidate, but just missed the 50% threshold to win outright

Every registered Georgia voter can vote in the runoff!  It doesn’t matter if you voted in November.

THERE ARE 3 POSSIBLE PATHS YOU CAN TAKE AS A GEORGIA VOTER ABROAD.  PICK ONE:

PATH 1: YOU'VE ALREADY SUBMITTED A RANKED CHOICE BALLOT - CONFIRM IT WAS ACCEPTED

1. Go to
https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/s and click on “Absentee Ballot Portal,” search for “12/06/2022 Runoff Election” and “Accepted Ballot Status”.

2. If it was Received but not “Accepted,” please contact your election office immediately. If there’s a problem, you may be able to fix it!

Their contact information is on https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/s.

Or, go to www.votefromabroad.org/ga  and scroll down to “Find Your Election Office.”

3. If you can't confirm that it was "Received," it may have been lost or delayed in the mail. If you don't get confirmation soon, you can mail in a new ballot to ensure your vote is received in time!

It's always a good idea to email your election office to let them know when you're sending in a duplicate ballot due to your original ballot not being received.

If the Runoff ballot is available to download from https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/s, please do so. Then fill it out and mail it back to Georgia.

If the Runoff ballot isn't available, you can also vote using a Backup Ballot (FWAB). Go to Path 2:

PATH 2: YOU GOT YOUR NOVEMBER BALLOT BUT DIDN’T SEND IN THE RANKED CHOICE BALLOT --
